Thread of shit you need to check out. No really appropriate place to put this thread so here it is in general.

People say I'm like a music nerd, but of kickass rock (people call it metal but metal is dead now) instead of snobby artsy music.

This is gonna be full of shit thats either great writing, technical playing, but about as much is also just gonna be stuff thats too good to care about how well its made.

Also this isnt a stupid 'rate this blah blah' thing so if you don't like it, don't hate on it cause that's where flames start.

This is just a hey check this stuff out its not mainstream but you might just like it.

Also funny @ Fu Manchu cause that first song "evil eye" was on tony hawk 2 on the playstation.

OK so day #2, band #2: My Sleeping Karma.
Really awesome instrumental groovy rock, great stuff to listen to when just relaxing and hanging out, great flow and structure a lot like techno with parts coming in and going out throughout each song.

I mean metal these days is pretty much garbage, I think the only newish band that does something called metal these days that I like is Mastodon.

BTW if people didn't go see Mastodon and Dethklok on their coheadlining tour it was fucking epic. High on Fire wasn't bad either.

Converge was fucking terrible.

But yes, very little good metal left these days, most is just screaming noise rock crap churning out albums of the same songs each year.

Yeah, thats NOT NEW. Cowboys from Hell (which I have owned for some time) came out in the early 90s, when metal was not dead yet.

My point is about garbage new music nowadays trying to be metal.

Disturbed had a decent first album, but the rest is really pussy corporate rock, the guys have NO balls and all their albums after the first have sounded exactly the same. They're just a moneymaker for the label rather than writing good music.

This brings me to another band that even I forgot about, and stays true to their metal roots.

The Sword
Epic metal, references to norse lore, badass instrumentation all around.
Phenomenal to see live.

This first one was on one of the guitar hero games, about their only exposure to the mainstream.
